Jo on the simple things: Gratitude, and being cooked for

It’s always wonderful to hear from our guests about their Azulfit experiences and how they have impacted on their lives in such a positive way. However, we forget sometimes to reflect on how much the guests and the experience has a positive effect on our own lives too. It was so welcomed and beautiful to receive this blog from our inspirational Pilates teacher and nutritional advisor, Jo, who is fresh back from an incredible 2 weeks teaching for Azulfit in Santorini.

‘When we go to other places to do retreats, like Frauke, Valentina and myself Jo, did this year, it is a great opportunity for us to get a bit more insight in how it actually feels to be on a Azulfit yoga and Pilates retreat.

We are onsite 24h, join each others classes, eat with the guests as well sharing many other incredible experiences with them and with each other.

With my heart full of love and gratitude I will share some of my feelings about our Azulfit weeks in Santorini.

First of all thanks to all you amazing people, our guests, that made these weeks so special. Thanks to you all from the Santorini Azulfit team. Valentina, Frauke and myself feel so grateful and honoured for all that you give to us.

Thank you all for sharing with us, we have learned so much from each of you. I have enjoyed so much teaching you, thanks to you, I love so much what I do.

azulfit yoga retreatsI feel so grateful for the opportunity to have spent two whole weeks doing yoga classes with Frauke and Valentina. They both have an incredible knowledge that they generously share. You can feel the passion and devotion in their classes. They give so much of themselves and it is amazing to see how they grow year after year. Practice makes you grow, practice makes you more authentic.

Frauke and Valentina are true practitioners. I think we have all laughed and cried. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Santorini Azulfit yoga retreatWe have had some incredible weeks in Santorini also thanks to Antonis and his team. These great people made these weeks extra special. EVERYBODY is genuinely nice, all so friendly and positive, just great to be around. The service couldn’t be better (which is a key part of the experience, when you are on an Azulfit retreat). Thanks to Antonis, Anthonis, Marios, Marcos, Alexandros. Love you all.

Alexandros, the cook, has taken such good care of us. The food is nicely presented, a good variety, lots of delicious greek traditional vegetarian dishes. Alexandros is always experimenting with new dishes, so it gets better and better.

Azulfit This year he even cooked us a few dishes from my cook book, Truly Healthy, Truly Delicious. I enjoyed so much being cooked for. Fantastic.

The treatments are great, they are done with so much care and love.

Jo DombernowskyJo Dombernowsky is the resident chef and nutrition advisor at Azulfit. She runs nutrition workshops, detox retreats and special nutrition holidays and is the author of the highly acclaimed cookbook ‘Truly healthy, truly delicious’. Edition 3 of the cookbook has just been released, with new chapters and 25 new recipes. Jo is also an inspirational nutrition expert and Pilates teacher and her all-round healthy approach to life is clear to see! Jo has her own food blog where she posts her delicious recipes, keeping you up to date on all the wonderful new food coming out of the Azulfit kitchen.

When we started Azulfit, nearly 10 years ago, we just wanted to share the beautiful island and the wonderful wellbeing lifestyle. International Yoga Day

Our next teachers stepping into the world to share their passion for mindful movement and a little taste of the Azulfit experience, will be Rachel Blunt and Emma Malarkey, who will be leading some fun and inspiring classes at London’s International Yoga Day celebrations at Alexandra Palace.
